Flexible Stone Manufacturer — Inside Two Plants in Zhejiang

Most suppliers behind a search like this one are trading offices with a rented address. We are not. Minbang has run its own lines since 2015, and this page exists so you can check that instead of believing it.

Manufacturer or trading company?

Both exist in this industry, and the difference shows up about four weeks after the container arrives.

A trading company buys finished sheets and resells them. When a batch comes out four tenths of a millimetre thin, or the texture drifts between lots, they go back to whoever they bought from and you inherit the delay. A factory goes back to its own line. We are the second kind.

Ningbo Minbang New Material Co., Ltd. was registered in 2015. Two plants, one in Ningbo and one in Shengzhou, both running the same chain: mineral preparation, sheet forming, surface texturing, cutting, inspection and export packing. No step is subcontracted, which means the tolerance figure is ours to defend rather than a supplier’s to explain.

Where the panels are made

Two sites, ninety minutes apart by road, running identical chains.

Having two plants is not a scale claim, it is a scheduling one. A rush order can be split across both sites without handing half of it to a third party — and a third party is exactly where batch consistency goes to die.

Ningbo is where the company started in 2015 and where the sample room sits. Shengzhou is the address on our contact page: F1, Jinlan Industry Zone, Jinting Town. That gate is the one in the photo.

Visitors are welcome at either site. Send dates and the reply will carry the address, a contact name and what the walk covers.

What happens between clay and container

Seven steps, all of them on our own floor.

01

Raw material

Clay and mineral aggregate are dried, milled and blended to a fixed recipe. Batch records stay on file, so when a customer asks why this container matches the one before it, the answer is in the formulation log rather than in memory.

02

Sheet forming

The blend is formed at low temperature and cross-linked with an inorganic copolymer. Nothing in that sentence is a selling point on its own; it matters because it is the step that decides whether the sheet bends without cracking three weeks later.

03

Thickness

Standard 1200×600 sheet runs 3 ± 0.3 mm. Big panels start at 4 ± 0.5 mm. Gauges sit at the line rather than at final inspection, because off-tolerance sheet that reaches the cutter has already cost a sheet.

04

Surface

Textures are moulded or printed onto the cured sheet: travertine, marble, slate, rammed earth, wood grain, metal leaf. The print line runs inorganic ink, which is why printed colour survives a south-facing wall without peeling.

05

Cutting

1200×600 mm as standard, or custom sizes with big panels up to 1200×3000 mm. Edges are checked after cutting. A chipped edge is rework, not something that quietly goes into a carton.

06

Storage

Over 50,000 m² of finished sheet is held in the warehouse, rotated by style and batch. That stock is the reason there is no minimum order and the reason stocked styles leave in 14 days.

07

Packing

Foam interlayers and export-grade cartons. Orders below 500 m² travel in plywood crates, which is what keeps edges intact through a month at sea. Loading photos go to the buyer with every shipment.

The numbers we hold

If a supplier cannot put a figure and a range against thickness, they are reselling.

Standard sheet 1200 × 600 mm, 3 ± 0.3 mm
Big panel 1200 × 2400 / 2800 / 3000 mm, 4 ± 0.5 mm
Weight From 6 kg/m² — against roughly 80 kg for 30 mm quarried stone of the same area
Density 1,920 kg/m³ (ASTM C97)
Water absorption 5.41%
Fire classification EN 13501-1 A2-S1,d0
Textures from stock 80+ stone and wood grain
Printed colours 500+, matched to a physical sample or a Pantone reference

Six checks that separate a factory from a trading company

Use these on us first. Then use them on the next three suppliers you talk to.

01Match the address

Ask for the business licence and put the registered address into a map. A trading office resolves to a floor in an office block. A plant resolves to a plot with a gate, a yard and a loading bay. If the two addresses do not match, ask which one the goods leave from.

02Ask for a walk, not a photo set

Every supplier has factory photos, including the ones that own no factory. Ask for a live call where somebody walks from the raw material store to the loading dock in one take. Twenty minutes of that is worth more than a catalogue.

03Ask which steps are outsourced

A factory can name the steps it owns. Press on the one you care about — forming, texturing, cutting — and listen for the phrase “a partner does that”. It is not a disqualification by itself, but you should know before you sign.

04Ask for a tolerance in millimetres

“High quality” is not a number. Ask for the thickness and the range around it, then ask what happens to a sheet that falls outside the range. Suppliers who only resell tend to answer the first question and change the subject on the second.

05Ask for a report number

Laboratory reports carry an identifier. SGS, Intertek and TÜV will all verify one against their own records. A scanned certificate with the number cropped out is decoration, and a certificate with no scope printed on it tells you nothing about the product you are buying.

06Ask what happens to a failed batch

This is the question that separates the two business models. A trading company changes supplier. A factory reworks, scraps, or downgrades the batch and tells you. Either answer is usable; a vague one is not.

What we make

Four series, one mineral base, one set of tolerances.

How orders leave the plant

Commercial

  • No minimum order
  • 14 days for stocked styles, 15 for regular orders
  • About 1,000 m² held per stocked style
  • OEM, private label and custom sizes as standard

Logistics

  • Foam interlayer and export carton as standard

  • CE, SABER, BSCI and SGS documents with the goods

Who buys from us

Distributors, contractors and project buyers in North America, Europe, the Middle East and Southeast Asia. Most start with one pallet to test the material on a real wall, then come back for a container. That sequence suits us: the second order is the one that tells you whether a factory is consistent, and consistency is the only thing that is hard to fake.

Questions buyers ask before the first order

Is Minbang a manufacturer or a trading company?

A manufacturer. Ningbo Minbang New Material Co., Ltd. was registered in 2015 and runs two plants in Zhejiang — Ningbo and Shengzhou. Mineral preparation, sheet forming, surface texturing, cutting, quality control and export packing are all done on our own equipment.

Where exactly is the factory?

The site address is F1, Jinlan Industry Zone, Jinting Town, Shengzhou, Zhejiang, China. There is a second plant in Ningbo, where the company started and where the sample room is. Both run the same production chain.

What is your monthly capacity?

About 200,000 m² a month across the two plants, with over 50,000 m² of finished stock held in the warehouse and roughly 1,000 m² per stocked style.

What is the minimum order?

There is none. Stocked styles ship within 14 days of order confirmation. The only threshold that changes anything is 500 m²: below it, the order travels in plywood crates instead of cartons.

Which certificates can you send before I order?

CE, SABER, BSCI, SGS and Intertek. Fire classification is EN 13501-1 A2-S1,d0, density is 1,920 kg/m³ to ASTM C97 and water absorption is 5.41%. The full documents, with report numbers, are on the certificates page.

Can I visit the plant?

Yes, at either site. Send the dates through the inquiry page and the reply will carry the address, a contact name and what the walk covers. Buyers usually allow half a day.

Do you do OEM and private label?

Yes. Custom sizes, custom textures against a physical sample or a Pantone reference, and private-label packing are standard services rather than add-ons. 500+ printed colours are produced this way.

How do I get a sample?

Send the texture or series you are considering and the destination country through the inquiry page. Samples and datasheets travel together, and freight is quoted at cost rather than marked up.

Talk to the factory, not a sales office

Send the texture, the project type and the destination country. The reply comes back with pricing, the matching reports and, if you want one, a time to walk the line.
