Inside a Flexible Stone Factory: The Full Production Line

Two plants, Ningbo and Shengzhou, run the same production chain. What follows is the tour a buyer gets in person: what goes in, what gets checked at each station, and what leaves in a container. Wholesale and project buyers are welcome to walk the line; arrange a visit through the inquiry page.

Minbang flexible stone panel factory

What this flexible stone factory makes

Minbang is an MCM flexible stone factory, not a converter. The sheet starts as clay and mineral aggregate and leaves as a finished flexible stone panel: around 80 stone and wood-grain textures 500+ printed colours made to order, standard 1200×600 mm sheets and big panels up to 1200×3000 mm.

Four series come off the same line — travertine, marble, slate and shale; moulded reliefs; printed art tile; and metal-leaf gilding. Same backing, same tolerances, four different faces. What changes between them is the surface treatment, not the process behind it.

Raw Material Preparation

Natural clay and mineral aggregate are dried, milled and blended to a fixed recipe. Nothing is bought in as a finished sheet — that is the difference between a flexible stone factory and a trading office with a warehouse. Batch records stay on file, so when a customer asks why this container matches the last one, the answer is in the formulation log rather than in luck.

Sheet Forming

The blend is formed into sheets at low temperature and cross-linked with an inorganic copolymer. Thickness is the number this factory holds hardest: 3 ± 0.3 mm on standard 1200×600 sheets, from 4 ± 0.5 mm on big panels. Gauges check every sheet at the line rather than at final inspection, because off-tolerance sheet that reaches the cutter has already cost a sheet.

Surface Processing

Textures are moulded or printed onto the cured sheet: travertine, marble, slate, rammed earth, wood grain, metal leaf. The print line runs inorganic ink, so printed colour survives UV outdoors without peeling. That matters because these panels ship to markets with very different sun loads — a Middle East facade and a northern European fit-out do not age a panel the same way.

Cutting and Sizing

Sheets are cut to 1200×600 mm standard formats or custom sizes, with big panels up to 1200×3000 mm. Edge quality is checked after cutting — a chipped edge means rework, not something that goes quietly into a carton.

Stock and Storage

Over 50,000 m² of finished stock sits in the warehouse, rotated by style and batch. That stock is why the plant can ship without a minimum order, and why stocked styles leave within 14 days instead of waiting on a production run.

Quality Control

Every batch is sampled for thickness, flex and surface consistency before release. Fire (EN 13501-1 A2-S1,d0), VOC, freeze-thaw, temperature-cycling, impact and abrasion reports come from third-party laboratories — the certificates page lists them, and each report can be checked against your order.

Show Room

All 50+ textures are on display full size at the plant. A screen shows colour; a room shows how a texture reads at 3 mm with real light on it. Visitors walk this room before they walk the line, which is usually where a shortlist gets shorter.

Packing and Shipping

Sheets go out with foam interlayers in export-grade cartons. Orders below 500 m² travel in plywood crates — that is what protects edges through a month at sea. Loading photos go to the customer with every shipment, because a buyer eight time zones away should not have to take the packing on trust.

Supply Capacity

Monthly shipment runs about 200,000 m² across the two plants. Regular orders deliver within 15 days of order confirmation. OEM production, custom sizes, consistent batch supply and export packaging are standard services at this factory rather than paid add-ons — send your project list and we will quote against it.

Where the flexible stone factory is

Two sites in Zhejiang, ninety minutes apart by road, both running the chain above. Splitting an order across them is a scheduling decision, not a hand-off to a subcontractor.

The Shengzhou plant is at F1, Jinlan Industry Zone, Jinting Town, Shengzhou — the address on our contact page, and the gate to look for when you arrive. The second plant is in Yinjiang Town, Haishu District, Ningbo, where the company started in 2015 and where the sample room sits.

Visitors are welcome at either site. Send dates through the inquiry page and the reply carries the address, a contact name and what the walk covers. Buyers usually allow half a day.

Who this factory ships to

Distributors, contractors and project buyers. North America, Europe, the Middle East and Southeast Asia take most of the volume; the line is quoted into other regions on request, and the specification does not change with the destination.

The first order is usually a pallet, to test the material on a real wall. The second is a container. Documentation travels with the goods — CE for Europe, SABER for Saudi Arabia, SGS and Intertek reports alongside — because that paperwork is the reason a factory in Zhejiang can be specified on a project it will never see.

Questions about the factory

Is this a real flexible stone factory or a trading company?

A manufacturer. Ningbo Minbang New Material Co., Ltd. was registered in 2015, runs both plants, and performs mineral preparation, forming, texturing, cutting, inspection and packing on its own equipment. The manufacturer page lists the addresses, capacity and audit scores, plus six checks any buyer can run.

Can overseas buyers visit the flexible stone factory?

Yes, at either site. Send dates through the inquiry page and the reply carries the address, a contact name and what the walk covers. Buyers usually allow half a day, and most spend the first hour in the sample room.

What is the minimum order from the factory?

There is none. Stocked styles ship within 14 days of order confirmation. The only threshold that changes anything is 500 m²: below it the order travels in plywood crates instead of cartons.

Does the factory take OEM and private-label work?

Yes. Custom sizes, custom textures against a physical sample or a Pantone reference, and private-label packing are standard rather than add-ons. 500+ printed colours are produced this way.
