Wood Grain Panel
Oak grain at 1:1, on a 4 mm sheet. No veneer, no substrate, no joiner, and it goes round the corner of the room without a trim.

The grain is taken from a plain-sawn oak board: cathedral figure down the middle, straight grain at the edges, a few fine checks where the board dried. Four colourways — pale ash, warm oak, grey and dark walnut — and the pale ash is the one that gets ordered, because it looks like limewashed oak rather than like a laminate.
It is not timber. There is no grain to raise, nothing to sand back, and if you scratch it the scratch stays because there is no 3 mm of wear layer to work with. What you get instead is a wall that goes up in a day and does not move with the humidity.
Why it does not look like laminate
Laminate prints a photograph of wood and the repeat gives it away at about two metres. This is a mould taken from a real board, so the grain has actual depth — shallow, about 0.3 mm, but enough that raking light picks it up.

Interior and exterior
The exterior shot is a two-storey building where the soffit and the wall are the same material, so there is no joint between the two systems. The atrium shot is a full-height wall with the grain running vertically, which is the only way to make a 3 m sheet look like joinery.
Installed, wood
Good for
- Lift interiors, hotel corridors and reception walls: no veneer, no fire-retardant treatment
- Soffits and canopies, where real timber needs a drained cavity and a lot of fixing
- Curved joinery fronts and radiused columns
- Walls on a budget, at roughly a third of the cost of veneered MDF
Not for
- Furniture that takes impact, like a table top or a shop counter
- External decks and anything walked on
- Anywhere the client wants to feel the grain of real timber under a hand
Round the corner
A 4 mm sheet takes a 150 mm radius, which is tighter than most veneered board will go without steam. Grain direction matters: bend across the grain and the figure stretches; bend along it and the sheet behaves like a spring.
Bent by hand, no heat
Four colourways
Pale ash, warm oak, grey and dark walnut. The grey is the one that behaves least like wood and most like stone, which suits a minimal interior. The dark walnut is nearly black in a dim room.

Questions we get asked
Is it cheaper than real timber cladding?
Usually, once you count the substrate, the battens and the labour. The sheet is a finished surface at 4 mm, so there is no veneer, no edging and no fire-retardant impregnation.
Will the colour fade in sunlight?
The interior colours are UV stabilised and do not yellow. On a south-facing exterior, expect a slight lightening over the first two years and then stability.
Can I use it in a bathroom?
Yes. It is a mineral sheet, so it does not swell. The grain holds water in the low points, so seal it and keep it out of the direct shower spray.
How do I handle joints on a 3 m wall?
Scribe the sheets tightly and the joint disappears into the grain. If you need a shadow gap, cut a 3 mm rebate on the back edge rather than trying to leave a gap between panels.
Is the grain directional?
Yes, and it matters. Every sheet must run the same way, or the wall reads as two different timbers under raking light.
Do you supply matching trims?
Corner sections in the same colour, 3000 mm. For an internal corner most installers just fold the sheet.
