Peak Rock Panel
A mountain face: ridges running up the sheet, torn at the crests, with the colour shifting from grey at the base to a brown-grey on the peaks.

Technical data sheet, MBPRS (PDF, 1.0 MB)·Colour card, 106 surfaces in four series (PDF, 10.4 MB)
The texture is built from a rock face with a strong vertical grain and broken crests, so the pattern has peaks and troughs at a scale of 100 to 300 mm rather than a repeating small motif. That is what makes it work on a facade: from the road you see the shape of the rock, not a texture.
Twelve millimetres and 9 kg on a 1200 × 3000 sheet. It is an exterior product first, so the sheet is dense, the colour is through-body, and the fixing is mechanical on a ventilated frame for anything above the ground floor. The 12 mm depth is what survives a raking sun without going flat. It goes out as exterior stone veneer on rendered elevations and ventilated frames, since 12 mm is thin enough to hang and thick enough to take frost.
Shape, not texture
This is the only pattern in the range that reads at thirty metres. Most of them resolve into an even tone at that distance; this one keeps its peaks, because the relief is 12 mm and the peaks are 300 apart. On a blank gable end, that is the whole reason to use it.

Good for
- Exterior facades, on a ventilated frame
- Gable ends and blank walls that need shape
- Stairwells and double-height spaces
- Entrance walls and boundary walls
Not for
- Interiors smaller than about 40 m²; the peaks are too big
- Anywhere a smooth, minimal finish is wanted
- Walls that will be pressure washed
Two greys and a brown
Three: the grey-brown in the shot, a cool grey and a dark brown. The cool grey is the one for northern facades; the brown for anywhere with a warm brick next to it.

Questions we get asked
Is it suitable for a facade?
Yes, mechanically fixed on a drained and ventilated frame, with the exterior face. It has been used at three storeys.
Will the colour fade?
The colour is through-body mineral pigment, so it does not fade the way a coated panel does. It will hold dust, which is why pale grey is safer in a city.
How heavy is a square metre?
Nine kilos. A 20 mm sandstone cladding is 45 to 55 before the fixings.
Can it be cut on site?
Yes, with a diamond blade. The torn edge of the pattern hides a rough cut.
