Wave Line Stone Panel
Vertical ribs that will not stay straight. Each line drifts a few millimetres over the height of the sheet, in phase with its neighbours, so the wall reads as a comb that has been combed.

Technical data sheet, MBBLW (PDF, 1.0 MB)·Colour card, 106 surfaces in four series (PDF, 10.4 MB)
The wave is gentle: about 4 mm of lateral drift over 3000, with a period of roughly 400. It is enough to stop the wall looking extruded and not enough to look like a decorative swirl. The ribs are 12 mm on centres with a round top, so the shadow between them is soft rather than sharp.
Seven millimetres, 7 kg. The extra depth over the fine flutes is what makes the drift read from across a room, and it is also why the sheet is stiffer: it will take a 600 mm radius, not 300. On a wavy wall, set the joints where two ribs are furthest apart. The ribbed wall panel ends up on long corridors, because the drift only shows when the wall runs further than the eye can hold.
Spa, then bedroom
The spa reception is cream floor to ceiling with a backlit niche cut into it, and the wave is what stops the niche looking like a hole in a flat wall. The bedroom is the same sheet behind a headboard, where the drift gives the light somewhere to go at night.
Installed, wave line stone
Good for
- Spa and wellness interiors
- Bedroom feature walls behind a headboard
- Restaurant walls where a soft shadow is wanted rather than a hard line
- Ceilings, if the ribs run across the short dimension
Not for
- Exterior use without the exterior face
- Narrow corridors under a metre, where the drift reads as a lean
- Anywhere a perfectly straight line is the brief
Four, all warm
Cream, sand, a warm grey and a clay. The clay is the one that surprises people: at this relief it reads as terracotta without any of the reddish orange, and it suits a room with a lot of timber.

Questions we get asked
How far does the line drift?
Four millimetres over the height of a 3000 sheet, with the neighbouring ribs moving together.
Can the sheets be joined without a visible break?
On a 12 mm pitch, a tight joint disappears at a metre. Keep the ribs aligned across the joint and it is invisible; misalign them by 3 mm and it is the first thing you see.
Is it suitable for a bathroom?
Yes, with an extract fan and sealed edges. The round top sheds water better than a square channel.
What colour is the stock?
The cream in the main photograph. The other three are made to order in about 20 days.
