Travertine Mosaic Panel, Square
A regular square grid, 60 mm on centres, with the travertine pores running straight through the joints. The tidiest pattern in the range and the easiest to cut around a room.

Technical data sheet, MB-TMN (PDF, 0.8 MB)·Colour card, 106 surfaces in four series (PDF, 10.4 MB)
Square pieces, 56 mm with a 4 mm gap, laid straight rather than staggered. It is the mosaic pattern everybody recognises, and the only reason it works here is the surface: the pieces are flat but the pores and the banding run across the joints, so the wall is one stone rather than a thousand tiles.
Seven millimetres and 8 kg on a 1180 × 3000 sheet. The regular grid means the sheet joint has to land on a grout line, which is a setting-out job rather than a cutting job: get the first sheet square and the rest follow, get it 3 mm out and the error walks across the wall. Specified as a travertine mosaic tile where the square format has to line up with the tile module on the floor below.
One stone, a thousand pieces
The test is whether the banding continues across a joint. Look at the texture shot and the pale band runs from one square to the next without a break in tone, which is what a real mosaic floor does and what a box of ceramic tiles never does.

Good for
- Bathroom walls, floor to ceiling
- Hallways and corridors
- Kitchen splashbacks, if they are not behind a hob
- Anywhere a tile grid is wanted but a tiler is not
Not for
- Floors
- Large walls, where a 60 mm grid reads as graph paper
- Curved work; the grid will not follow a radius
Cream and white
Two: the cream in the shot and a whiter version. On a square grid the colour is very visible, because the joints draw a line across it, so the range stays in the pale neutral end.

Questions we get asked
How does the sheet joint work in a square grid?
The sheet edge falls on a grout line, so the joint reads as one more grout line. Set the first sheet plumb and the rest follow.
Can I cut it around a socket?
Yes, with a knife and a straight edge. Cut from the back and the face does not chip.
Is it grouted?
The moulded gaps are the grout lines. Nothing is filled on site except the sheet edges.
Why does this cost less than a real travertine mosaic?
Because it is one sheet, not 300 pieces on a mesh, and it goes up in an hour rather than a day.
