Travertine Mosaic Panel, Chunky
Mosaic, but not flat. The tiles stand proud of the bed by 6 mm and their faces are broken, so the wall is a field of small raised stones rather than a tiled surface.

Technical data sheet, MB-TMC (PDF, 0.9 MB)·Colour card, 106 surfaces in four series (PDF, 10.4 MB)
A staggered mosaic of roughly 100 × 60 mm pieces, each one raised and each one with a broken face, set with a 4 mm gap. The travertine pores run through the pieces, so at a metre it reads as small stone blocks rather than as tile.
Seven millimetres and 8 kg, in 1200 × 600 for a splashback and 1200 × 3000 for a wall. The 600 module is the one to use behind a basin, because the pattern is at its best when the wall is at arm’s length, and it is the size a tiler can handle without a second pair of hands. Ordered as a travertine mosaic for bathrooms and bar fronts, where the grout lines are what the client wants and what the installer dreads.
Raised, broken, staggered
Three things separate this from a mosaic tile. The pieces are raised, so there is a shadow under every one. The faces are broken, so each catches light differently. And the joints are staggered rather than stacked, so there is no continuous line for the eye to follow.

Bathroom, then bar
The bathroom is the 600 module behind a basin and along a bath, in cream, with the joints grouted in the same colour. The bar front is the 3000 sheet cut into the curve of a banquette, where the raised pieces take the scuffs that a flat panel would show.
Installed, travertine mosaic-c
Good for
- Bathroom walls and splashbacks
- Bar fronts and banquette bases
- Fireplace surrounds
- Anywhere a tiled look is wanted without a tiler
Not for
- Floors, and shower trays
- Large commercial walls, where the 100 mm module is too small
- Kitchens behind a hob, because the raised pieces trap grease
Cream and grey
Two: the cream in the shot and a light grey. A mosaic pattern in a strong colour looks like a 1970s bathroom, so the range is deliberately quiet.

Questions we get asked
Is it grouted like tile?
No. The sheets butt together and the moulded gaps are part of the face, so the only grout line is at the sheet edge.
Why is it raised?
The pieces stand 6 mm proud, which is what gives the wall its shadow. A flat mosaic reads as tile.
Can it be used in a shower?
On the walls, with the edges sealed and a tanked substrate. The raised pieces hold water, so keep it out of the direct spray.
How many sheets for a 2.4 m wall?
Two 1200 × 3000 sheets, with the joints set on a tile gap.
