Travertine Round Column Panel
For round columns. Deep convex ribs at a 100 mm module on a 600 wide strip, which will follow a curve down to about 600 mm radius without a visible facet.

Technical data sheet, MB-TP100 (PDF, 0.6 MB)·Colour card, 106 surfaces in four series (PDF, 10.4 MB)
The ribs are 70 mm wide with a 30 mm gap, standing about 8 mm proud, which is roughly the profile of a turned stone column in a 19th-century building. The strip is 600 wide so that four or five pieces wrap a 800 to 1000 mm column.
Eight millimetres and 8 kg on 600 × 3000. The thickness is the reason it can follow a radius: at 4 mm the ribs would flatten on the inside of the curve. On a 900 mm column, four pieces with the joints in the gaps gives a wrap that reads as solid stone from three metres. Used as a travertine slab on round columns, cut into four pieces and wrapped, which is the only way to get the pattern to meet.
Turned, not pressed
A turned stone column has ribs that vary slightly in width because the lathe was hand-fed. This profile copies that: the ribs are not exactly 70 mm, and the gaps are not exactly 30. At 1:1 you can see the variation, and it is what stops a big column looking like a plastic pipe.

Good for
- Round columns in atria and lobbies
- Shopping centre columns
- Church and heritage interiors where a turned stone column is being matched
- Any column from 600 to 1200 mm diameter
Not for
- Square columns; use Post-N or Post-C
- Columns below 500 mm, where the ribs are too big for the diameter
- Exterior columns in a freeze-thaw climate without the exterior face
Cream
One colour in stock: the cream in the shot. A grey can be made to order. Large ribs in a dark colour look like a casting, so the range stays neutral.

Questions we get asked
What diameter does it suit?
600 to 1200 mm. Four pieces for 900, five for 1200, with the joints in the rib gaps.
How do you get the height?
3000 strips stacked, with the joint on a gap. On a 9 m column that is three joints, all on the same rib line.
Is it flexible enough for a curve?
Down to about a 600 mm radius at 8 mm. Tighter and the ribs on the inside start to close.
Does it need a frame?
On a concrete column, adhesive is enough. On a steel column, a light frame first.
